 The drive times and distances are based on travel over the most direct route at an average of 90kmph on open road sections, in good weather and light to medium traffic, allowing only short 10 minute comfort breaks.

What cannot be overstated is the nature of many of our highways that include winding, undulating travel over hills and through mountainous regions as you skirt around lakes, mountains and hills at low speed.

We do not recommend or encourage drivers to exceed 9 hours behind the wheel in any one day.

Allow extra time for sightseeing, heavy traffic or weather conditions and other needs you may have.
Where drive times exceed 7 hours we do not recommend these routes, unless the driving can be shared.
Journeys exceeding 9 hours drive time are not included.

There are many factors beyond the authors and our control that can and will impact upon the true distance travelled and time taken to complete any journey.

Visitors should Allow extra time for:

• Sight seeing and visiting attractions enroute.
• Heavier traffic conditions,
• Inclement weather,
• Traffic delays
• and any other needs they may have.
