Packed with a short, but vibrant history, the West Coast region is a place of rugged scenic beauty with incredible panoramas from north to south and many natural wonders hidden amongst the forest and bush land that marches relentlessly down the slopes of sheer mountains to the sea.
Welcome to our paradise, the West Coast of New Zealand.
Most of the Walks and Tracks included in our guides are easy to moderate in nature and offer visitors to the region a few minutes to an hour or two in our forests and bush, the most scenic of New Zealand.
The three largest towns on the West Coast are Wesport in the northern Buller, central Greymouth in the Grey District and Hokitika in Westland.
Surrounding these are numerous settlements and villages in the river valleys, nestled beside our numerous lakes and on the Coast line.
From awesome seascapes to mountain top views the West Coast offers visitors the most shades of green and unsurpassed scenic vistas.
